Delta Alpha Pi @ North Shore Community College
With campuses located in Danvers and Lynn, Massachusetts, the award-winning Betta Kappa Chapter of Delta Alpha Pi resides at North Shore Community College (NSCC).
DAPi is in it's tenth year of celebrating and supporting the academic achievements of post-secondary students with disabilities. Including Delta Alpha Pi's mission statement and goals, NSCC added to their desired outcomes. This includes changing the stigma and stereotypes of our community when they hear the word "disability". Due to the negative stereotyping associated with having a disability, students have been reluctant to identify themselves publicly. Being a member of the DAPi Honor Society presents students with the ability to engage in opportunities to change those perceptions through leadership experiences, increased self-awareness, a safe place to meet with other students, as well as an environment that fosters the feelings of creativity. |
